Help Alex Heal: Support for ICU Recovery & Medical Expenses

Our beloved friend and family member, Alex Duncan (they/she), is currently in critical condition in the ICU at UCSD Medical Center. Alex was unexpectedly hospitalized with severe acute pancreatitis, which has caused serious complications affecting other organs. They are receiving life-saving treatment and face a long road to recovery.
Alex and their partner, Chloe, had flown to San Diego from New York on May 1st for Alex’s brother’s wedding. But upon landing, Alex could not walk and started to lose cognitive and motor skills—they were rushed by ambulance directly from the airport to the ER. They’ve been in intensive care ever since.

Doctors are cautiously optimistic, but Alex’s recovery will require time, rest, and a great deal of support—medically, emotionally, and financially.
